Tests Were Good
10-10-2008
Ok... About Monday's lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspiration.
The CSF percentage went down to three percent (from eight percent last month). Out of 30 cells there were 67% lymphs, 20% monocytes, 3% macrophages, 10% immature cells (one of which was a blast).
That is an improvement!
The bone marrow showed no malignancy although it was still hypocellular.
So that means the marrow transplant from Devon back in 2006 is working again, and both the herbal regimens (Aug through Sep 1, and Sep through Oct 5)
were successful in continuing to reduce the CSF leukemia.
Jaymun got more platelets Monday before the LP, so we are going to try to make it all the way until next Monday before needing platelets again.
Same goes for red blood cells (by the way - his reticulocyte count was headed back up also).
We left his NG tube out all this week, giving him a break from supplements.
Next Monday we'll look at labs, put the NG back in, and decide what to do for the rest of October.
Save the Date!!!
This message comes to you from Dave's sister Tammy ...and yes, you're ALL invited, we'd love to see you there!
